Sambandha Matrimony ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Platform.
1. Information We Collect
Profile Information: Name, age, gender, photos, education, occupation, family details, caste/ethnicity, religion, birth date and birth place (used for Kundali/astrological matching), partner preferences, and contact information (phone, email) you voluntarily provide. Identity Verification: A selfie photo used to verify that your profile is genuine (KYC). Location: Your approximate location, used to show you relevant nearby matches -- you can decline this and set your location manually instead. Messages: Text messages, photos, and voice recordings you send in chat. Usage Data: IP address, device identifiers (including push notification tokens), device information, browsing activity, and interactions on the Platform. Payment Information: Processed securely via Khalti; we do not store full payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
To facilitate matchmaking, including Kundali/astrological compatibility and location-based discovery, and display your profile to potential matches. To enable premium features, such as sharing contact details with mutual interests for marriage purposes. To verify your identity and moderate photos and reports. To improve the Platform, prevent fraud, and ensure safety. To send notifications, updates, and promotional communications (you can opt out).
3. Sharing of Information
Contact details (phone/email) are visible or shared only to premium users with whom you have mutual interest or accepted communication, strictly for marriage-related purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. We may share aggregated, anonymized data for analytics. Information may be disclosed to comply with legal requirements, enforce our Terms, or protect rights/safety.
4. Full Privacy Features
You control profile visibility (public, private, or hidden). Options to hide photos, contact details, or specific information until you approve sharing. Report/block users for misuse. Delete your account and data at any time -- see our Account Deletion page for how.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption, secure servers) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure; you share information at your own risk.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies for functionality and analytics. You can manage preferences in your browser.
7. Your Rights
Access, correct, or delete your personal information via your account settings or our Account Deletion page. Request a copy of your data or withdraw consent by contacting us. If you're located somewhere with its own data protection law (for example, the EU/UK), you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
We use Google Sign-In and Facebook Login to let you create and access your account -- your use of those services is also subject to Google's and Meta's own privacy policies. Payments via Khalti are subject to Khalti's privacy policy.
